Blogging

This is my latest attempt at blogging. I've got a dozen or so baby blogs with a handful of posts each that I just couldn't maintain because I lack creativity and originality. Even this first post seems like a yawner to me... or maybe it's because I only slept three hours last night.

Anyhoo, the point of this here blog thing is for me to write about things that I'm pretty sure make me a total weirdo, and readers (all 0.5 of you) can vote on whether or not those things are actually normal. I was raised in a somewhat sheltered environment--God bless my parents, they just wanted to keep me safe from all the other weirdos of the world--so I don't have the best grasp on what's normal and what isn't. (I will go into detail about this later. Maybe. Depends on if blogging can hold my attention.) So this will be educational and, maybe eventually, a support group for those of us who worry about whether we're blending in with the normals or not.

I suspect that in reality, most people are varying shades of bizarre, but we're all stumbling about the world trying to convince each other that no way, I'm just like you, I totally have this shiz together! But most of us are secretly wondering why everyone seems to have it together except us. But these are the kinds of things I wouldn't know without asking, sooooo... that's why this blog is here.

Oh, back on topic. Blogging. Is it normal to have tons of unfinished blogs? To really wish to have something interesting to say, but to lack creativity, originality, and humorousness to pull one off? I always think I probably have nothing interesting to say (Exhibit A: This Post), so maybe there's no point in writing a blog. I don't even mean blogs that make money or result in book deals... the chances of that are pretty slim. Incidentally, how many people actually BUY book based on their favorite blogs? A large percentage of each book is just... the blog... but printed. You're already getting the blog for free. So... why would you want a book? I'm not saying a lot of bloggers aren't talented writers who deserve to be paid for their work, but... why pay for something you're getting for free?

I just realized that if I ever get a book deal, I just talked my future fan base (all 1.5 of you... hey, awesome! My readership tripled!) out of buying my book. What is wrong with me?
